Letter To the Editor: Re “Threat Response,” by Charles M. Blow (column, Oct. 16):
Democrats may finally be paying attention to black people in the election, but it appears to be another 11th-hour attempt to bring black people to the polls to save a party that has not consistently engaged this constituency.
I would urge them to pay special attention to the black youth vote. If the party is able to mobilize these young people, it can build a cadre of committed political activists that can carry its message forward for years to come.
