Los Angeles, CA – What if God and the Devil were to draft their own major league baseball teams with the greatest players, living and dead, and the fate of mankind was contingent on whose team won? The Celestial Baseball Association (CBA) plans to take that storyline and ‘knock it out the park’ with the announcement that veteran filmmaker Foster Corder has secured the film rights to their book, “Old Timers Day: As Told by God to Richard LoPresto.” Authored by Richard LoPresto and co-written with Jerry Schafer, “Old Timers Day” is an epic tale about the forces of “Good vs. Evil” battling on the baseball field.

In “Old Timers Day: As Told by God to Richard LoPresto,”God Almighty and Satan the Devil face off and make their team selections, agreeing that once the game is in progress, neither of them can have anything whatsoever to do with end result. The beloved pastime transforms into an extreme sport of ‘Winner Takes All’ as the instant the game is over, the loser will be stricken from the mind of man and from the annals of history forever! “Old Timers Day” details great sports trivia and interesting historical facts as the opposing teams comprise over 100 of the greatest baseball players of all time, joined by legendary baseball managers, umpires, coaches and announcers.

“With the World Series and the Weinstein case trending, ‘Old Timers Day’ is extremely timely,” cites Corder. “Hollywood needs a moral cleansing and this movie is the perfect antidote. Can you imagine Will Smith playing the great right fielder Roberto Clemente and Arnold Schwarzenegger playing outfielder Ty Cobb? How about the casting for the New York Yankees outfielder Aaron James Judge, or the Miami Marlins left fielder Ichiro Suzuki, because of course these guys would have to be included as players! I’m hoping to take meetings with producers like J. J. Abrams, Thomas Tull and Brian Grazer as we garner Hollywood’s interest in the movie. ‘Old Timers Day’ literally has the potential to be one of the greatest inspirational films ever made!”

“As a Brooklyn native, ‘Old Timers Day’ was always a specialday at the ballpark for me when I was growing up. So, imagine my surprise one day when I was attending, Central Christian Church in Henderson, Nevada, and God spoke to me and told me I was chosen to write a story called ‘Old Timers Day,'” reveals LoPresto. “As God continued to share this vision with me during my church visits I found myself writing endless notes. I was prompted to go to my best friends, Jerry Schafer and Brian Levine for assistance. Together, following the notes I had taken and adding my expertise on the subject of baseball, Schafer and I co-authored this very special book, with the Lord’s guidance.”

“I’ve written and produced everything from Las Vegas shows to major motion films, but I can honestly say, this is the first time I’ve taken direct dictation from God,” adds Schafer. “My involvement with ‘Old Timers Day’ is a career highlight as it is a true tale of heroic proportions. The experience has been gratifying and humbling and I can’t wait to share the vision we were blessed with on the big screen.”

Author Richard LoPresto is considered a baseball aficionado by baseball enthusiasts around the world. His show business career includes writing and producing the musical variety television special “Where Will You Be In 2000 A..D.?” hosted by Mr. America, Lou Ferrigno, the original “Hulk,” along with Marianne Marks. It was the last television show produced on the stage of the famous Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is a thirty-year veteran of the gaming industry and currently works and resides in Las Vegas.

Jerry Schafer is an award-winning writer, producer and director credited with writing, producing and directing more than 150 television specials, a dozen major motion pictures and original Broadway style musical comedy shows. He has written countless articles, a book entitled “Angel In My Pocket” and more. Richard LoPresto and Jerry Schafer have been working together since 1998 developing television, motion picture and live show productions.

Foster Corder is a Vietnam veteran, production executive, producer, director, cinematographer, and writer, with more than 100 independent feature and short film credits. He co-founded Black Bird Films and produced television advertising for major brands including McDonald’s and the California Lotto. During the glory days of music video, he helmed as Director, Music Video Production at Capitol Records. Most recently he directed the award-winning faith feature “Church.”

“Old Timers Day” lends new meaning to the phrase, ‘take me out to the ball game.’ The faith-based film version of the book will attract sports fans and “believers” alike with a story about morality, conviction and the fate of human kind.
