"On Our Way -Strength In Diversity"

STANDARDS OF ADMISSION

The major criterion for determining who will be included in The Resource Guide to the Social and Economic Contributions of Georgia Women is the extent of a woman's reference value. Such reference interest is judged on either-or both-of two factors; the position of responsibility held and the level of achievement attained by the individual. In fact, many of the participants in this edition are engaged in fields marked far more by service than by monetary reward. Participants whose admission is based on professional position include the following:

  • Members of the Georgia Legislature
  • Preeminent governmental figures
  • Administrators/Diplomatic and state posts
  • High-ranking military officers (active duty or retired)
  • High-ranking legal officials such as state, county and municipal court judges
  • Prominent figures from business, the professions, and the arts
  • Principal figures of leading civil rights, philanthropic, educational/scientific organizations
  • Heads and principal leaders of religious denominations
  • Chief scientists
  • Outstanding educators from major colleges and universities

Participants whose admission is based on achievement are determined by a judicious process of evaluating qualitative factors. To be selected in this manner, a person must have accomplished a conspicuous achievement -- something that distinguishes her from the vast majority of her contemporaries.

Nominations for the Guide are welcome.
