Here's an update on some of our activities:

  • Georgia Coalition Of Black Women Joins Augusta National Protest

  • June and August 2002:

    The Georgia Coalition of Black Women, Inc. 25th Annual Sisterhood Celebration and presentation of the Georgia Prestigious Brotherhood Award to Governor Roy E. Barnes on Friday, June 7, 2002. This memorable event was  held at Herndon Plaza, 100 Auburn Avenue. Click here for event photos.

    The Georgia Coalition of Black Women, Inc. will host The Ballot Power of Women's Lecture Series and Citizenship Educational Forum featuring candidates for statewide and congressional offices, Saturday, August 3, 2002, in Macon, Georgia. Location to be announced.

  • On February l9th in celebration of Black History, GCBW sponsored a Salute to its president, Judge Edith Ingram, the nation's first African American Probate Judge. Dr. Joseph E. Lowery was the Keynote speaker.

  • On March 10th GCBW unveiled a Bronze Bust of SoJourner Truth in the Georgia State Capitol in celebration of Women's History Month. The Bust is on loan from the National Women's History Museum in Washington, D. C.

  • In celebration of Women's History Month the Atlanta Daily World Newspaper featured a series of artices on Women and Women's organizations including the Georgia Coalition of Black Women.
