Publisher Jamie Foster-Brown celebrates sixteen years of Sister 2 Sister magazine -- one of the country's fastest growing publications -- with star-studded celebration at Manhattan mega-club Crobar
Over the past sixteen years, bold-faced names such as Grammy-winner Alicia Keys, super attorney Johnny Cochran, R&B songstresses Patti LaBelle, Ashanti, Floetry, O magazine maven Gayle King, film superstar Angela Bassett and nationally syndicated radio hosts Doug Banks and Russ Parr have joined publisher Jamie Foster-Brown at the annual gala for celebrity lifestyle magazine Sister 2 Sister. This year, though, marks a landmark occasion -- the publication's sweet sixteen. On Wednesday, April 20, 2005, from 8:00 p.m. - midnight, Jamie and a host of celebrity friends from the worlds of politics, media and entertainment will gather at Manhattan mega-club Crobar (www.crobar.com) to toast the magazine's success in the highly competitive publishing industry. "Sister 2 Sister has been in the celebrity news business for sixteen years now and we couldn't be prouder," says Foster-Brown. "We owe our success and longevity to all of the celebrities in music, TV and film -- from those just starting their careers to the mega-superstars -- who have graced the pages of our magazine throughout the years. There's definitely a synergy between the artist and Sister 2 Sister, and this year's gala will be the perfect opportunity for us to come together and enjoy each other, let our hair down and have a great time." At the gala, after a walk up the red carpet, partygoers will enjoy the music of a hot DJ, a special Sister 2 Sister "sweet 16" cake presentation, and the Anheuser-Busch "Tried & True Bud Lounge" for sponsors and celebrity guests. Gala participants will also receive a special Sister 2 Sister souvenir booklet entitled "Evolution." The pictorial will follow the publication's growth and profile founders and staff with photos and remembrances. Partial proceeds from the celebration will benefit From Streets to Skills Social Services Inc., a non-profit that provides services to poor and low-income families, as well as Bold Ambitious and Determined (BAD), an organization that introduces young people to entrepreneurship.
