"Legendary O’JAYS to be honored by City of Canton, Ohio"

Canton, OH - (July 8, 2005) - The Legendary O’JAYS will be honored for over 40 successful years in the music industry in their hometown of Canton, Ohio during a homecoming celebration weekend, July 8-10, 2005 that is being sponsored by CAP III Productions, Inc.
The 3-day celebration will feature a VIP Paring Party, Celebrity Golf Tournament, O’JAYS Parkway dedication and The O’JAYS Homecoming Concert (detailed schedule of events is attached). This event is to pay special tribute to The O’Jays who have paved the way for many artists in the music industry. An important part of The O’Jays Homecoming Celebration will be the renaming of Mahoning Road to “The O’Jays Parkway”. This Historical Street Dedication Event will be celebrated with the Canton community at Nimisilla Park on Sunday, July 10th, 2005 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The O'Jays Homecoming Weekend event will attract local and national media, celebrities, VIP and bring the community together. The O'Jays successful career has spanned over 40 years. With 10 gold and nine platinum albums to their credit, they are one of the most vital and beloved R&B vocal groups of all time. Now in their 43rd year making music, the groups' new album, "Imagination" under Sanctuary Urban Records Group is expected to be one of the great albums of their long career. The O'Jays have released over 25 albums. Their previous album, For The Love Of, was certified gold and received a Grammy nomination. The group was also featured in the acclaimed movie The Fighting Temptations and continues to tour and perform before sold out audiences around the country.
