"Independent filmmaker tackles the darker reality of relationships"

LOS ANGELES – Crowds coming out of Raleigh Studios, have been raving about the new Michael Holland film, “Before The Fact”. Michael J. Holland is a raw, reality based filmmaker, and playwright, who dares to take you on a cinematic journey into the subtle and frightening elements of relationships.
The documentary “Before The Fact” offers an insightfully creative look at the good, the bad, and the ugly of relationships, as viewed through one man’s marriage. This haunting drama ultimately climaxes into a revealing, yet terrifying incident between a husband and a wife. Startling audiences into facing the hidden issues that politicians are afraid of, and women’s groups ignore.
Michael Holland has gained fame for his ability to bring real day-to-day issues and social concerns to life on the screen. His film “Only In Hollywood” received wide acclaim for it’s social commentary on homelessness in America. Like most independent filmmakers, Michael Holland is experienced in the film industry, both in-front of the camera, as well as behind it. He was the writer, director, and star of “A Part Of Me. The American Film Institute picked this stirring family film, portraying a powerful friendship between two high school all stars (one black and one white) as part of it Black Filmmaking Now series.
As an independent filmmaker, Michael Holland has not forgotten his roots. He has transformed his Raleigh Studios screening into an educational forum for aspiring thespians and filmmakers. After viewing the film “Before The Fact” the audience gets to participate in a question and answer session with Michael Holland and the cast.
