President Luther R. Gatling and the Board of Directors of the One Hundred Black Men, Inc. presented Rev. James Pullings, Jr., Pastor of Leviticus Church of God In Christ with a check for $5,000 for Katrina evacuees living in New York in honor of the organization’s 42nd Anniversary and Founders Day, celebrated in December at the Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., State Office Building.

On Saturday, September 10, members of the One Hundred Black Men, Inc., the New York City Chapter of the 15,000-member 100 Black Men of America, the International F. & A. M. Masons and Order of the Eastern Star, loaded a 52 foot, 18-wheel tractor-trailer with clothes, supplies and non-perishable food. The truck went to the Baton Rouge chapter of 100 Black Men of America who handled distribution to New Orleans. OBMNY members James Peterson, Carlos Garcia, Fritz Miller and Leslie Wyche organized the relief effort on behalf of the three institutions. OBMNY member Leon Eastmond, president of the Bronx-based A.L. Eastmond & Sons, donated the truck and driver.
