U*Space Gallery continues its 2006 season with what promises to be one of Atlanta’s most spiritually moving art exhibits. Atlanta painter, Stephen A. Webber continues his extraordinary documentation of African American culture with more than 30 new emotionally charged works that speak directly to the heart in all of us. Gallery owner & Curator - Terence E. Jackson says of the artist: “When one views a Webber painting, one is immediately struck by the fact that the artist is clearly an inheritor of the great throne that past artistic royalty, such as Archibald J. Motley Jr., Jacob Lawrence, Aaron Douglas, & John Biggers (to name but a few) have all been fortunate enough to sit upon. By shifting his focus toward what makes African-American's similar as apposed to different from other races, Webber captures the inherent humility found in a people, as they simply live out their day to day existence.”
From 7 to 11 PM, enjoy wine and light hors d’oeuvres as you browse the art work. * Exhibit runs through May 28th.
