Veteran comedian set to release the first of three classic stand-up comedy DVDs with label partner CodeBlack Entertainment.

Los Angeles, CA (September 18, 2006) - Codeblack Entertainment is proud to present the DVD debut of veteran comedian Sinbad’s Afros and Bellbottoms--the hit HBO stand up comedy special that takes audience members on an “old school” ride back to the 1970’s. In this hilarious 60 minute, self-styled monologue, Sinbad revisits the days when dashikis, afros, bellbottoms, platform shoes, and collars “wide enough to take hang gliding” were the hit. Seen by millions of TV viewers nationwide, Afros and Bellbottoms aired during the HBO “Comedy Hour” and helped solidify the comic superstar’s giant fan base.

One of the funniest and most versatile talents in the world of comedy, this "A Different World" alumni and Redd Foxx protégé freely admits he doesn’t know any “jokes” in the traditional sense. Inspired by “everyone he meets, everything he sees and everything he does”, Sinbad has perfected a jovial, “in your face style” that has kept audiences laughing for more than 20 years. Early in his career, Sinbad set his own standards as a hardworking funnyman whose clean, family friendly persona and animated antics endeared him to fans worldwide. His film credits include a starring role opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in “Jingle All the Way,” co starring with the late Phil Hartman in “Houseguest, ” “First Kid,” and the “The Cherokee Kid” with James Coburn and Gregory Hines. On the small screen Sinbad starred in NBC’s #1 rated sitcom “A Different World” and his own series, “The Sinbad Show”. As a philanthropist, Sinbad believes no one should be left behind in training and education. He has served as a spokesperson for the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME) encouraging minorities to pursue studies in science, math and engineering. In honor of his parents’, Donald & Louise Adkins, Sinbad has established an academic scholarship in their name at the esteemed HBCU (Historically Black College/University) Morehouse College.
