New York, NY – November 2006 - The annual feast of independent cinema celebrating the global Black experience - the African Diaspora Film Festival (ADFF) - will open this year in New York City on Friday, November 24th and run until Sunday, December 10th with a selection of 80 new discoveries and extraordinary films from all over the world.

Now in its 14th year, the 17-day ADFF will feature an array of documentaries, features, shorts, including a number of world, US and New York premieres as well as appearances by internationally known / respected directors and talent. ADFF 2006 screenings and panel discussions will take place at various venues in New York City including the Anthology Film Archives, the Clearview Cinema at 62nd and Broadway, The Schomburg Center, the Riverside Theatre of the Riverside Church and Teachers College, Columbia University.
