Readers of The Gantt Report know I write a lot of columns about devils and beasts. I also sometimes write about the Angels of our community and our world.

When I write about people, whether the comments are good or bad, in reality it is all relative.

I know some good people that do not so good things and I know some bad people that do some great and honorable things.

Goodness, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder!

Let me explain, I know some good people that smoke weed. Smoking marijuana is against the law but sometime people smoke weed for medicinal purposes. They may have cancer, glaucoma or simply loses their appetite. Marijuana can ease the pain of cancer, lower blood pressure behind the eyes of glaucoma patients, ease nausea and give you the munchies if you need to eat.

I know good people that use salty language. Jesus sometimes called wicked people serpents and snakes and I know good people that have occasionally used the “N” word, the “B” word or the “H” word to get their points across.

On the other hand, I know adulterers that take good care of their children, if not their spouses. I know gamblers that never missed a child support payment or were late paying a mortgage.

And I know thieves that steal from the rich and share the loot with the poor.

The bottom line is this, only God can judge you. No matter what I think or what any other writer, or person, thinks we all have to do what is right for us.

Celo Crespo, my religious leader, encouraged me to walk with all of the spirits good and bad. I’m comfortable on Wall Street in New York, 75th Street in Chicago or on Peachtree Street in Atlanta. I am also unafraid to walk on 7th Avenue in Liberty City, Miami, Edgewood Avenue in Jacksonville or on Macomb Street in Frenchtown, Tallahassee.

I’m not afraid to go where I go because I’m not a hater, I’m not a snitch and I’m not a sellout!
