Illinois Senator Barack Obama has officially declared himself a candidate for President of the United States.
I like Obama a hell of a lot more than any other announced candidate but unlike many Blacks, I’m going to reserve my hip hip hoorays until a later date.
From my perspective, at this early stage in the election process, Obama’s presidential dreams appear to be more of a nightmare. Like Martin Luther King, Barack’s idea to become the first Black president of the United States is “good but dead”!
I know you don’t like for me to write like this but it is true. If Barack Obama has to depend on the Democratic Party voter delivery system to get elected President, he should have conceded yesterday.
But wait! Didn’t the Democrats do exceptionally well at the polls in the most recent elections?
Well, more Democrats won Congressional races than Republicans did but don’t you ever think that the election results were a result of Democratic campaign superiority. Democrats won because “independent voters” voted for Democrats.
Not just voters registered as independents or with no party affiliation, independent voters of Democratic and Republican registrations voted for a change in Washington, D.C.
Most voters did not love Democrats, they just hated Republicans more!
Barack Obama doesn’t have to take my word, and he probably won’t, but he has to garner a new generation of voters. Obama has to be the voice for the people that don’t have a voice. He has to have the vision for the people that can’t see and the people that won’t see.
Barack Obama has to put together a new campaign team of imaginative and creative political consultants and advisors. The Democratic Party has refused to change, refused to improve and the Democrats have refused to involve political contractors that can generate, influence and deliver voters and chose instead to enter into political contracts with people and companies that can’t draw flies to an outhouse!
Recent campaign history shows that you don't have to be politically experienced or successful to advise Democratic candidates. All you have to do is suck up to Democratic officials and spread hate and lies about competing campaign advisors. Democrats seem to like that kind of drama.
Anyway, Barack Obama has street credibility. Unlike previous politicians, Barack inhaled, if you know what I mean. He is a good family man with a loving wife and children.
All Barack Obama needs is a new team that can draw in new voters that agree with Obama about America’s need for a new way and a new day! (Gantt’s new book “Beast Too: Dead Man Writing” is coming soon. Contact Lucius at www.allworldconsultants.net)
