The Gantt Report - “Pinocchio”, “Lamb Chops” and “Howdy Doody” would be proud!
Every time members of the Democratic and Republican Parties claim to be seeking support from Black voters, they roll out their crews of political puppets!
To generate support from other groups of voters, the political parties have to address political issues important to those groups. However, to generate votes in Black communities, districts and precincts, all the parties have to do is say, “We love you even if we don’t respect you or your quests for equal right and justice!”
So-called Negro leaders that aspire to be controlled by political parties are the persons of choice to be paraded around by Democrats and Republicans during election time.
The Democrats like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and people like that and the Republicans are quick to showcase Lynn Swann and Texas Railroad Commissioner Michael Williams to prove that America’s political parties embrace Black voters and the Black causes Black citizens endear.
The truth is that neither the Democratic or Republican puppets can draw flies to a pile of excrement!
The masses of Black voters in America want political progress. Black people want equal rights, justice and peace, They want jobs, educational and business opportunities. They want affordable health care, safety and security.
The political parties merely want to win political races!
If Blacks were being sought to be an integral part of the political party landscape, the political parties would be spending more money with Black people and Black businesses.
You tell me, other than giving paychecks to political puppets to trick you into voting, what has either political party spent in Black communities?
Well, non-Black companies get paid to produce and place political media, non-Black companies print all of the political signs, non-Black companies produce and mail all of the direct mail, non-Black companies do all of the polls and non-Black companies operate all of the call centers and phone banks.
Hell, for the most part, non-Black caterers cook all of the chicken and fish given to Black people at poltical rallies!
It wasn’t always like that. Both parties once used Black professionals and Black businesses to provide goods and services. In fact, Republicans may have used more Black professionals than their Democratic counterparts.
Today, Republican Parties in various states say they have created “Black Leadership Councils” and hired “Minority Outreach” persons.
Do you know the people that hold those positions and titles? Are they friends that have influence in your community or are they tools, and friends, of their political masters?
America’s political party leaders are not dumb. They don’t want to work with Black community leaders to influence Black voters; they want to work with political puppets to trick Black voters.
One thing is clear, the majority of Black voters desire to vote for candidates they know. If they don’t know candidates, they desire to know the candidates messengers.
We know Martin, Malcolm and Rosa when we see them and we know Sambo and Jezebel when we see them regardless of how they are dressed up by political pirates and vampires whose goal is to steal votes and suck the lifeblood out of Black neighborhoods.
In the words of former football coach Denny Green, the political party puppets are who we thought they were! “Any Black will do” did not work in previous elections and the Black political puppet theory will no t work in the 2008 elections!
