TOWNHALL PARTY TO MOBILIZE AFRICAN AMERICAN VOTERS AT
SUGARHILL LOUNGE SATURDAY FEB. 2

OLD School Meets NEW School
Lil Scrappy joins local leaders to encourage young voters to vote in the primary

PowerPAC, a nonprofit advocacy organization committed to inclusion of underrepresented communities in the political process, will hold a townhall party at Sugarhill Lounge in Atlanta, GA to encourage young African American voters to turnout for the 2008 presidential primary on Tuesday Feb. 5. The Atlanta event is part of a six-week Get-Out-The-Vote initiative targeting eight Southeastern states, from Mississippi to Maryland, which collectively represent more than half the nation’s black voters. The ground activities have been focused on the mantra “embrace hope and vote change” in this historic 2008 Presidential campaign.

A distinguished list of panelists includes legendary civil rights leader, Dr. Joseph E. Lowery, Atlanta City Councilmember, Caesar Mitchell, and the youngest elected official in Georgia, Rep. Alisha Thomas Morgan. There will be a musical performance by soulful songstress, Michaelyn Oby.

The event is free and open to the public. Media is invited to attend.
