Los Angeles, CA - Thursday night won't be the same in Los Angeles when The Heavy Hitters Comedy Show makes its debut on Thursday, September 11, 2008 and every Thursday thereafter at the newly opened Vintage Hollywood. Located at 4000 W. Washington Blvd in Los Angeles, the new venue presents an upscale atmosphere for Los Angeles' premier live music and comedy jam. Dinner will be served alongside a full bar for an evening of fun and excitement.
Industry veteran Kevin Rouse will reveal his expansive rolodex with musical bookings that will rock the house weekly. With 25 years of experience under his belt, Rouse is known for the former Ten20 Night Scene at the Bel Age Hotel on the Sunset Strip which he booked for years. The reunion of the soulful 11:00 News Band, featuring Billy John will grace the stage on opening night.
Funnyman Geoff Brown ( www.theegeoffbrown.com/ ) will host his comedic pals weekly for what promises to be an evening of uproarious hilarity. Brown won the prestigious 1993 Bay Area Black Comedy Competition and was named 1994 Star Search Comedy Champion. He is currently the co-host of "The Voice Of Reason," on Jamie Foxx's Foxxhole 106 Sirius Satellite Radio network. Brown can be seen on the Best Of Jamie Foxx's Laffapalooza 6, his own BET Comic View ½ hour Special, and BET's 1 Mic Stand, airing soon. His guests on opening night include comedians Tommy Chunn, Joe Blount and Doug Williams.
"Our vision is to offer LA an evening tailored for the grown and sexy. Fine dining, great music and comedy, all in an upscale setting. It doesn't get any better than that." offers Rouse. "Heavy Hitters is a brand we intend to introduce to Los Angeles and then take around the country."
"This is an all headliner show, all heavy hitters," emphasizes Brown. "No fillers. The host is a headliner, who brings on a headliner, who's followed by a headliner, who's followed by a band made up of no less than the best musicians in the country. The show is top shelf from front to back, week in, week out. No other room in L.A. can claim this," he adds.
Doors will open at 7:00 pm with showtime at 8:30 p.m. Cover charge is $15.00. For more information and/or to book the Heavy Hitters in your city, contact Kevin Rouse at firstname.lastname@example.org or 213-926-2809.
