If people wonder why Hillary and Bill Clinton would stay in the race with a less than five percent chance of winning, they are using old math. With old math, 2+2 doesn't necessarily equal 4. That's why the Clinton's could suggest offering Barack Obama the VP slot.

To start, with old math, black people had to do twice as good to get half as much. With old math, when you're not winning, you simple find a different way to add the numbers. If that doesn't work, find different numbers to add. And if that still does not put you in the winners seat, it's time to take drastic measures.

As Billary said, you can't get in the game and expect not to get tackled. Sen. Obama was prepared to get tackled, however, Sen Obama is too young to understand what a lot of the "old-school" blacks have been preaching- You can still do twice a well but as soon as you get close to your goal all of a sudden the rules will change.

Young black children were taught the twice as good for half as much scenario from birth. As a young black man raised by white grandparents Obama might have missed that tidbit. We all had hope that things had changed. And they have. But not for old-school people like the Clinton's. So, for the past few months the Clinton's have attempted to apply the old math to this election. Since the old math and the kitchen sink strategy has not worked the Clinton's pulled out their trump card – which explains why they have been so arrogant about being the winners of this primary. Read on....

Nancy Pelosi, (D-CA) House Speaker and chair of the Democratic National Convention, recently commented, "If the votes of the superdelegates overturn what's happened in the elections, it would be harmful to the Democratic Party."

In response to Pelosi's remarks, ABC.com reports that several Clinton donars "reminded Pelosi that they have given generously to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, which helps fund Democratic House races.
"We have been strong supporters of the DCCC." they wrote. "We therefore urge you to clarify your position on super-delegates and reflect in your comments a more open view to the optional independent actions of each of the delegates at the National Convention in August. We appreciate your activities in support of the Democratic Party and your leadership role in the Party and hope you will be responsive to some of your major enthusiastic supporters." <a href="http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/03/clinton-fat-cat.html"target="_NEW">Clinton Fat Cats Hiss at Pelosi
An ABC News update from ABC News' Political Director David Chalian:
UPDATE: ABC News' Political Director David Chalian reports that a Democratic operative unaffiliated with either campaign and familiar with the reaction to the letter among Members of Congress says, "Members of Congress - who are superdelegates - make up the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee" or DCCC from which the donors seemed to be threatening to withhold funds. Read "More on those Clinton Fat Cats" at ABC News blogs

The Long Defeat - by David Brooks New York Times

Hillary Clinton may not realize it yet, but she’s just endured one of the worst weeks of her campaign...

...In short, Hillary Clinton’s presidential prospects continue to dim. The door is closing. Night is coming. The end, however, is not near.

Last week, an important Clinton adviser told Jim VandeHei and Mike Allen (also of Politico) that Clinton had no more than a 10 percent chance of getting the nomination. Now, she’s probably down to a 5 percent chance.

...No wonder the Clinton campaign feels impersonal. It’s like a machine for the production of politics. It plows ahead from event to event following its own iron logic. The only question is whether Clinton herself can step outside the apparatus long enough to turn it off and withdraw voluntarily or whether she will force the rest of her party to intervene and jam the gears. Read the full story here

This story about Hillary Clinton's lie about Bosnia is a hoot. It seems Mrs. Clinton can tell as tall a tale as her husband who did not have sexual relations with that women.

By Chip Collis - The Huffington Post

How can you tell Hillary Clinton is lying? Howard Wolfson's lips are moving.

Clinton suffered another daily gotcha when her self-proclaimed GI Jane moment - dashing across the Tuzla tarmac while ducking sniper fire - was revealed to be a typical prosaic airport greeting: a cute kid, flowers, the double air kiss, even a poem! Apparently, it took actual footage for the Clinton campaign to realize that Sinbad wasn't just being funny when he called her a liar last week. I could have told them that; Sinbad hasn't been funny since her husband's first term.

In trying to walk back this latest of Clinton's dalliances with dishonesty, Wolfson was quoted as saying, "it is possible in the most recent instance with which she discussed this that she misspoke, with regards to the leaving of the plane."

To say someone misspoke usually connotes that the untrue statement was made inadvertently. We all do it. "I played golf last Saturday," says I. "No, we went to lunch last Saturday. You played golf on Sunday," says she who is always right. "Oh, yeah, I misspoke, thank you dear. You're the best wife in the world."

Now, if we replay that last vignette Clinton/Wolfson-style, it might go something like this: "I single-handedly foiled an armed bank robbery last Saturday," says I. "No you didn't, you played golf," says she. "Oh yeah, I misspoke."

Did you catch the subtle difference?Read the full story here

AL CALLOWAY SAYS: It’s time for blacks to jump ship! by Al Calloway, South Florida Times
If you are both an American of African descent and a member of the Democratic Party, one question looms more magnified with each passing day: Are you at least vexed, if not disappointed and angry, at Hillary Clinton and her presidential campaign?

It is well documented that Barack Obama supporters and many high placed Democratic Party officials worry that Bill and Hillary Clinton’s scorched earth campaign against Obama will burn the possibility of a Democratic presidency down to the ground.

What is not being openly talked about is the possibility that Hillary’s campaign could also seriously diminish the Democratic Party’s core, which for too long has been taken for granted. Since the South Carolina primary, African-American voters have abandoned the Clintons with 80 to 90 percent voting for Obama.

Americans of African descent appear to be galvanizing with an understanding that more than 90 percent of their voters are Democrats. If a sizable chunk of these voters organize across the country in a loudly publicized fashion to attract even more numbers, and quit the Democratic Party and become Independents, they could reshape the American political and economic landscape.

Clintonism is providing the impetus for such abandonment and a consequent paradigm shift. Many black elected officials, preachers and Democratic Party operatives who have sided with Hillary’s campaign are not only caught in the mire, but must also face a wounded constituency to which they proved to be unaccountable. Read the full story here

Please let’s don’t get distracted. We are one family from John Connelly & Juan Williams to Jeremiah Wright & Louis Farrakhan. We are not and never have been a monolith but we have been taken for granted, tend to respond emotionally, are very sensitive, and easily disappointed.

Some of us would like to move beyond race and focus on the vast opportunities before us. Others cling tenaciously to the identity and culture that we have woven into a beautiful quilt out of the meager scraps that we were left to work with. It is not in the interest of either end of the spectrum to fuel the undermining of the Black church. It is a fact that but for hope we would not be here . We should take this opportunity to bridge the many divides that separate us one from another and we must never forget how we made it this far as we are once again reminded how far we have to go. Let's keep our eyes on the prize.
by ZZ Packer , Huffington Post - So, forty-three white male presidents to date, and Geraldine Ferraro says Obama's gotten where he is because he's black?

If you've been following the latest statement by Geraldine Ferraro in which she said "If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position," you might also be operating under the assumption that our last 43 presidents have been black, or that blacks overwhelmingly make up the bulk of Fortune 500 CEOs, or for that matter, the majority of Andover kids whining about the lack of locales for spring break or the cast of The OC.

Just at the beginning of his campaign it seemed like an absolute long shot because of his race. Now, having overcome all this and other these obstacles--including the ones that contribute to high percentages of black men who are jobless, in prison, or dead by the age of 25--he is where he is because of race?

The horrible double standard is obvious. According to those of Ferraro's ilk: if you're a poor black man, or incarcerated, or jobless or homeless, you are where you are because of your own ineptitude and should take responsibility for your actions. However, if you've excelled at one of the top schools in the nation, then later on became a star attorney and later become a senator who inspires millions, then you're only there in spite of your ineptitude and you really shouldn't take responsibility for it. Talk about movin' on up. Read the full article
It never fails, everytime an African American stands on the verge of breaking through a barrier, on the brink of victory, poised for the win-the rules change.

What lesson do we teach when rules are established, with clearly articulated consequences for violations, agreed upon by all parties and toward the end of the game, when things are tight and matter most, the conversation shifts to how we can accomodate the violator?

When there is no solution that would not disadvantage one party or the other the best course of action is to stick to the rules agreed upon at the outset. That way there may be tears but nobody can cry foul.

Michigan and Florida do count and the strength of the Democratic Party is certainly being tested. At the end of the day the only question is whether or not the Party will honor its own process. The citizens of Florida and Michigan were disenfranchised by the decision to violate the rules made at the state level. Their issue is with their own state representatives not with the candidates or the national party. If the Democratic Party leadership stands strong it will send a signal that the rules are the rules and must be observed by all. This is the only fair course of action. To do otherwise is to invite total chaos in the future.

A true leader advocates, defends, and abides by the rules.
From an ethical standpoint the crossover vote inspired by Rush Limbaugh aiding Hillary Clinton and potentially undermining the candidacy of Barack Obama is at a minimum offensive. Thinking more long-range I would argue that it is time for Black America to embrace and adopt the strategy. Paying homage to one of the more effective proponents it should be known as “Rushing the Vote.”

Republicans will no longer be able to ignore the Black vote if even 10 or 20% of us crossover - Rush the Vote – to decide the Republican nominee or wreaking havoc in their primaries. It will also break the stronghold that the Democratic Party has had for far too long proving that our vote should not be taken for granted.

If for any reason Barack Obama is not the Democratic presidential nominee Black voters will have a perfect opportunity to Rush the Vote in November and we will be credited with the McCain victory.

It should be noted that Black Republicans such as WAOK’s Shelley Wynter have advocated this sort of swing strategy for years. Now that the effectiveness was proven in Texas and Ohio let’s plan to Rush the Vote whenever it is in our best interest.
Everybody knows me as Illai Kenney but my full name is Illai-Akia Scheherazade Kenney. I am not Muslim. Illai is from the Bible meaning exhaulted/most high. Akia was the name of a Japanese friend of my grandfather’s, and Scheherazade was a woman of exceptional intelligence, wisdom and bravery that saved her own life and that of 1000 virgins by telling spellbinding tales during dark Arabian nights and thus educated a king. These are qualities that my mother wished for me and why she gave me these names. When we first went to Africa I was proud to wear African clothes and even as a young girl I understood the meaning of standing in the Door of No Return at Goree Island. So let’s examine the meaning behind Barack Hussien Obama.

Barack is of Hebrew origin, and its meaning is “flash of lightning”. In the Bible (Judges 4:6) Barack is a valiant fighting man who cooperated with the prophetess Deborah to win victory in a battle against overwhelming odds. I could stop there but the world is fixated on Hussein which is Arabic meaning good or handsome. So you see Barak was destined to be a good and handsome man that would rise like a flash of lightning to win victory in a battle against overwhelming odds.
Here's an article on Sen. Hillary Clinton that is very revealing. The commentary is by Dick Morris, a former advisor to President Clinton. He not only delves into Sen. Clinton's personality, he talks about the fact that the Clintons refuse to release their tax returns. Also, something Newsweek chronicled a few weeks back - President Clinton's business partnership with the Sheik of Dubai and his other business ventures.
The real Hillary Clinton stood up at the Democratic presidential debate this week: angry, sarcastic, stubborn, secretive, arrogant, mired in the past, victim of the media, and still firmly convinced that she is uniquely entitled to the Democratic Party nomination and the presidency.

That Hillary hasn’t really been on display much since the debacle of her disastrous health care plan and the end of Bill Clinton’s impeachment trial, when she haughtily flaunted her combative personality.

But make no mistake about it — that’s the Hillary Clinton that we’ll see if she somehow manages to steal the Democratic nomination.

She’s found her voice. The one that so alienated everyone she came into contact with over her health care plan that her own party destroyed it. The one that publicly and loudly defended Bill and arranged for attacks on Monica Lewinsky when she knew the complete and sordid truth. Read the full commentary at Rasmussen Reports

Dick Morris, a Fox News Analyst and author of several books, is a former advisor to Senator Trent Lott (R-Miss) and President Bill Clinton.

Why does America have a problem with this statement? “Unashamedly Zionist and Unapologetically Jewish” to say this is to support an independent state AND a religion that does not accept Jesus as the Savior but it is generally not considered separatist for a Jew to express this sentiment, particularly within the Synagogue. In fact, we would expect this to be the perspective of Jews in the temple. What is the problem with this statement? In my experience people of European ancestry are “Unashamedly White and Unapologetically Christian”. Would the media rail if the statement was “Unashamedly Asian and Unapologetically Buddhist”?

Could it be that there is an expectation that African Americans would be ashamed about being Black and/or ashamed of being Christian? How is it that conservative (and even liberal) media can talk at length about John McCain’s service in the 1960’s and just ignore the Black experience in that turbulent era? The Civil Rights generation is shocked to find that White America is actually willing and able to evaluate a Black candidate based upon his policies. Many of us still can’t believe it.
Continue reading "Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian"

Derrick sure makes me proud. The interviewer obviously assumed he had found an Obama supporter full of passion and no substance. I commend Derrick for holding it down, and turning the reporter around.

This is a prime example of what has occurred with the Obama campaign. After seeing and hearing what Obama has to say, people who did not support him initially are now recognizing his potential to make a much-needed change in America. There is always a lot of passion in a race - whether it's a presidential race or horse race - but the people are listening to how Obama addresses issues that are impacting their daily lives.

Not to take away from Sen. Obama, but the state of America is also propelling people to go out and vote. Jobs are going abroad, children dying in a senseless war, and the US economy in shambles.

CHANGE is all we can HOPE for right now.

BTW, I think this young man should run for office.

This just in as. Please forward onto ALL of the Obama support groups as well as the people who you know that are on the fence. Here is the REAL factor of experience.

-----Original Message-----
From: ssp_11_11@yahoo.com <ssp_11_11@yahoo.com>
Subject: Obama More Experienced Than Hillary
WHAT 35 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE?

The Facts:

Senator Barack Obama

1996-2004 (Illinois State Senator)

2005-2008 (United States Senator)

12 Years of Elected Office Experience (FYI – George W. Bush had 6 years in office before the presidency)

Senator Hillary Clinton

2001-2008 (United States Senator)

7 Years of Elected Office Experience

Barack Obama is more experienced to be President of the United States.

35 – 7 = 28 years of zero elected office experience for Hillary Clinton.

Again, what 35 years of experience is Hillary talking about?

Here are the remaining 28 years –

8 Years (Lawyer)
12 Years (First Lady of Arkansas)
8 Years (First Lady of the U.S.)
28 Years of Zero Elected Office Experience
Since when is 20 years of being a first lady relevant experience for being president?

FINAL ANALYSIS

Senator Barack Obama, Not Only By Virtue Of His Character, Honesty, And Competence, But Also By Virtue Of His Experience, Is Clearly More Qualified To Be President Of The United States.

FIRED UP – READY TO GO!!!!!

Moral excellence should be a major consideration as we assess the candidates for president of our great nation. If this is the standard, what that are the characteristics that we should look for? Intelligence, honesty, integrity, faith, sacrifice, and a desire to “Do justly and love mercy.”

After speaking with several White and Latino women campaigning for Hillary Clinton in South Carolina, I am confident that White, Latino and Asian women will join us in voting for truth, justice, and the real American way. Many of the volunteers on the streets of Columbia, SC had to admit that the dirty tactics in this presidential race have landed them on the fence. I am sure that all of our sisters will stand with us.

The Black community has trusted White leadership for years and now we are asking White America to trust us just once. Even Oprah has weighed in. If you trusted her in the past, why not now? This is not a Black thing, it's about change. Have you ever known Oprah to recommend anything based upon race? The majority of Black women are with Barack Obama. We know the truth when we hear it. More to the point, our sister sonar detects underhanded, backstabbing, low-life, signifying liars that we need to kick to the curb.

Bill and Hillary Clinton are absolutely disgusting. This couple brags about being vetted simply because they have no shame and will say or do anything to get what they want. They have been embroiled in more scandals than any presidency in history and they are willing to destroy anyone that stands in their way. It appears that truth has no place in their campaign.

Barack is running against a mud-wrestling tag-team. It is time for us to stop letting them play the American public, and especially the Black community, like a worn out sax. We are sick and tired of their mess and the nasty underhanded tactics that even party loyalists find reprehensible. If the Democratic Party sinks so low as to reward dirty political tactics with a presidential nomination they will loose. The word on the street is that if Obama does not win the nomination, Black women will either stay home or vote Republican. There is a groundswell of Black women that will not vote for Hillary under any circumstance.
Personally, I’m tired of the race issue. That’s one of the reasons I like Senator Obama.

However, since the media decided to ask Sen. Obama an asinine question regarding Clinton being the first Black President. I have to raise the issue, once again, of what Clinton did for Black people besides play the sax – which he didn’t do so great.

To start, In addition to checking out his dancing skills as Sen Obama cleverly suggested,
we need to know how many times Clinton has be a victim of Driving While Black.

As for first Mr. Clinton, prisons across the country are busting at the seams due to “Clintonomics.” Tough-on-crime Clinton did for the prison industrial complex what union busting Reaganomics did for big business and fear-mongering Bushanomics did for Haliburton.

There’s Welfare Reform, NAFTA, and a host of legislation passed that devastated poor and working class people.

Why would the Black community want to claim one of the only 2 Presidents in history that were impeached? Additionally, I find it quite offensive that a man in that position could have an affair with a youngster and expect to be respected. It's one thing to step out, but with a naive, innocent young girl? Then to lie about it. I call it NO moral values.

And then there’s Harlem. Inquiring minds want to know where Billary stands on forcing low and middle-income people out of Harlem.

A lot of people think Mr. Clinton is down with the people because he moved his office to Harlem. What good did that do the people if they can no longer live there? Where does he stand on that issue?

In the end, Clinton played the sax and visited Black churches and won the hearts of Black folks. He's so disrespectful he just shows up at church, he didn't even have the respect to stay awake at church during the King event.

Come on people, are we that dense? Or, are you sleeping with Clinton?

I understand why White people don’t want to claim Clinton, but Blacks don’t want him either. Ask the Hispanics if they’ll claim him.

Here's some information on the fight to defeat the rezoning of historic 125th Street
