Without questions Auburn Avenue is Atlanta's most historic street. "If you haven't been to Auburn Avenue you haven't been to Atlanta" so stated J. W. Dobbs, the grandfather of Mayor Maynard Jackkson. J. W. Dobbs also coin the pharse "Sweet Auburn" because business was so good that money ran like honey. At one point Forbes magazine stated that Auburn Avenue was the riches "Negro" street in the world. In it's hay day Sweet Auburn was the center of Arfican American business, education, religion, social life and enntertainment.
