THE BLACK DENTISTS IN THE NEW MILLINEUM: WHERE ARE THEY? by Dr. Michael Rowland
More Information
Dentistry offers a wide variety of career opportunities for
African Americans. Let's keep the tradition and heritage of
pioneers like Dr. Robert T. Freeman, the first African American
to receive a dental degree in 1869 from Harvard Dental School and
Dr. Ida Gray Nelson, the first African American female to hold a
dental degree earned in 1890 from the University of Michigan
forging ahead. Our communities can not afford to have the African
American dentist disappear. If you would like to receive
additional information about the field of Dentistry, please
