At an early age, she discovered her gift of performing through the musicals Annie, Lion King, The Wiz and Cats. Countless hours were spent throughout her childhood performing as her favorite artist’s such as Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, Aaliyah, and Lauryn Hill. She would soon begin to perform in local and school productions, including Annie, and garnered the attention of being a talented singer and actress; however, it took a sudden loss for her to understand the power of her gift.
At the age of 14, Lexi lost her father, MC Breed, unexpectedly and music became a way for her to deal with her pain. It was during this time that Lexi knew that singing was a not only a gift, but a passion, and that she wanted to pursue music on a professional level. In 2009, she entered the studio and began recording her favorite songs. 2010, Lexi’s video cover of Fantasia’s “Summertime” on Youtube took off. The video created a buzz and was featured on worldstarhiphop.com with over 80,000 hits in just hours. It was also featured on sandrarose.com, and several social networking sites.
Lexi has a voice that is unique and timeless. As a member of the County District Honors Choir, she has recorded and performed at the World of Disney Studios in Florida and studied with the Dallas Austin “Don’t Stop the Music” program. Lexi has performed The National Anthem at several events including Georgia Governor Nathan Deal’s tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Dekalb County State of the System Address and The NAACP Membership Ceremony. Lexi is currently very busy performing her latest single(s) “On My Own”, and “I Love You” at various venues and working on a variety of material to create mass appeal amongst music lovers of all genres.
